In commemorative of art master professor Li Zefan, the city dedicates the sketch competition in attempt to encourage the creation of fine arts and promote child esthetic education. The event will aim to unfold the city to the world in different aspects and forms. Hsinchu city government and the Li Zefan art museum joined together for this event to take place on August 1st, from 9am to noon. Applicants may register in advance via telephone at 03-5319756(*243) or on the day of the event. The competition will take place at the Hsinchu City Art Gallery & Reclamation Hall, 116 Zhongyang Road. Participants will receive drawing papers during the registration. Drawing utensils will not be provided.
The competition is divided into five age groups- preschool; lower, intermediate, and higher elementary grade levels; and junior high school. The city moat and its riverside park, along with the east gate will be the subject matter of this competition. Assessment results of all art works will be completed by August 10th and posted on the respective websites. Winners will be granted in each of the different age groups. The winners will be given prize money, a certificate, and a Li Zefan drawing album. The first place winner(1) will receive $3,000 NT dollars in prize money. Second place (2) and third place (3) winners will collect $2,000 and $1,000 NT dollars.
The assessment results can be obtained by visiting the Li Zefan art museum website at http://www.tzefan.org.tw and http://www.hcccb.gov.tw of the Culture Affairs Bureau. The winning artwork pieces will be on exhibit at the Li Zefan art museum from September 4th to October 25th (57 Linsen Road, 3F). The closing ceremony will be held on September 5th at the museum. Literary art enthusiasts and people from all walks of life are welcomed to attend this wonderful celebration to appreciate art from a different perspective.
